Isabella came to Ithaca to attend Cornell University. She reads upward of 150 books a year, and when she's not reading (or studying!) she's a competitve figure skater. The resident children's bookseller, she specializes in Young Adult literature, working with marketing directors and editors at publishing houses to promote YA titles. She is proud to serve on the Winter/Spring 2022 Indies Introduce Kids panel, a small cohort of indie booksellers across the country selected by the American Booksellers Association (ABA) to evaluate 50+ upcoming middle grade and YA titles coming out in Winter/Spring of 2022.
Isis comes to Ithaca by way of Boston, but after ten years here, she feels like an Ithacan at heart. Her biggest hobby (besides reading) is collecting hobbies: knitting, sewing, independent perfumes, Dungeons & Dragons, homeschooling, journaling, and non-culturally-appropriative spirituality, to name just a few. She is particularly fond of children's and young adult literature, and is currently working on her first novel, an epic fantasy.
Ivy is a townie through and through, having grown up in Trumansburg and attending Ithaca College. If she's not collecting books she doesn't have time to read, she's probably stage managing theater - especially with the Ithaca Shakespeare Company. Her main reading genres other than plays are YA/children's literature and fantasy (though she's trying to expand), and she has a special interes in transformative works. Non reading related hobies include cross stitching, playing Stardew Valley, and cross stitching things from Stardew Valley.

Kate is a fiction writer working on a short story collection and a novel. Outside BSB she can be found walking her dog Luna on Ithaca’s many hiking trails! Kate's picks>>
Lisa has been the General Manager at Buffalo Street Books since late 2017. She is our lead buyer/curator, organizes our Well-Read Black Girl Book Club, shepherds all of our Ithaca Is Books community programming, and basically has too many ideas and too little time for all that she wants to do for the bookstore and our community. Lisa lives in Fall Creek with her partner Robert and occasionally in residence adult child, Jasper. She loves riding her baby blue Townie bike, cooking, walking, and of course, reading. Oliver grew up in New Jersey and came to Ithaca by way of Brooklyn and New Haven, CT. He writes things and sometimes sort of makes music. Other interests include sourdough baking, gardening, and really, really bad reality TV. He likes reading poetry, international fiction, essays and critical theory. He's new to town--hoping to find a secret swim spot in time for summer. Oliver's picks>>
