Carmen is a lifelong Ithacan, a sometimes poet, a "trying her best" outdoorsy person, and avid reader. When she's not working (secretly browsing for her next read) at Buffalo Street Books, Carmen spends her time reading, cooking, and playing Magic the Gathering. Carmen also heads our consignment program, and is happy to answer any of your consignment questions: https://www.buffalostreetbooks.com/consign-usCarmen's picks>>

Isis comes to Ithaca by way of Boston, but after ten years here, she feels like an Ithacan at heart. Her biggest hobby (besides reading) is collecting hobbies: knitting, sewing, independent perfumes, Dungeons & Dragons, homeschooling, journaling, and non-culturally-appropriative spirituality, to name just a few. She is particularly fond of children's and young adult literature, and is currently working on her first novel, an epic fantasy.

Kate grew up in New England and spent seven years in Brooklyn before moving to Ithaca, and she loves how her time at BSB has helped her get to know the community here. Kate is a fiction writer working on a short story collection and a novel. Outside BSB she can be found walking her dog Luna on Ithaca’s many hiking trails!  Kate's picks>>

General Manager

Lisa has been the General Manager at Buffalo Street Books since late 2017. She is our lead buyer/curator, organizes our Well-Read Black Girl Book Club, shepherds all of our Ithaca Is Books community programming, and basically has too many ideas and too little time for all that she wants to do for the bookstore and our community. Lisa lives in Fall Creek with her partner Robert and occasionally in residence adult child, Jasper. She loves riding her baby blue Townie bike, cooking, walking, and of course, reading. Lisa's picks>>

Operations Manager

Oliver grew up in New Jersey and came to Ithaca by way of Brooklyn and New Haven, CT. He writes things and sometimes sort of makes music. Other interests include sourdough baking, gardening, and really, really bad reality TV. He likes reading poetry, international fiction, essays and critical theory. He's new to town--hoping to find a secret swim spot in time for summer.     Oliver's picks>>
