Zine-Making Workshop for Teens @ Buffalo Street Books

Buffalo Street Books is very excited to partner with the Spring Writes Literary Festival and the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County to present a Zine Making Workshop for Teens, part of the Zine Month series of events that will begin with the Book & Zine Fair on May 1.

Discover the world of zines in this hands-on workshop for teens. What are "zines?" The word is short for magazine, and they're self-published, handmade publications of original or appropriated texts and images. You can make a zine about anything you want! In the workshop, we'll look at the cool history of zines, learn some simple book structures to use, and make your own with collage and art materials provided.

Facilitated by Laura Rowley who operates Illuminated Press, a small press that publishes handmade books in Trumansburg.
